Sushi Nomu

The food is good and the service is also good. The only problem is it took us more than 40 minutes to got our dishes. Maybe they spent too much time to do something unnecessary like let the Japanese ginger look like a rose.

Impressed with the interior. Very attractive for a date night type of place. Family friendly.

Surprised that miso soup/salad had to be ordered separately. But it was damn good miso.

Sushi roll options are limited IMO. I asked if I could even add on just a basic spicy tuna roll or something simple that was an ingredient in their signature rolls, and the waitress said they didn’t do those. That’s fine, but not having more of the basics I think narrows the audience unless you’re trying to only have signature rolls. Two of them did seem a bit close in ingredients and taste, one could be eliminated to make space.
Shrimp tempura app - 8/10. Tasted fresh. Size was a little shy IMO.
Ordered the sashimi sampler as well, pretty good. Maybe 7.5/10.
Servers were busy when we went, I think they did an overall good job. Once food was served though we really didn’t see anyone until the check.
If we had, I probably would have ordered a little more etc.

Food is pretty good. I like the Shishito pepper. Sushi rolls, sashimi, ramen are all prepared well.

Pretty good but left a lot to be desired. The rolls are just good, definitely not a wow. What is a wow though is all the presentation.

Everything is plated nicely, all nice silverware and such. Fire and dragon roll came out with a short burst of fire.

Cool interior but personally not a fan. Lights are distractingly bright and the whole room feels more sterile than cozy.
Needs an airlock door to keep the heat in and more intimate lighting. Potentially a lot nicer on a summer day or night though (it’s winter now)

The sushi grade of the sashimi is not all the way there yet. The fatty tuna was 10/10 but the salmon was 5.5/10, slightly slimy and chewy.

For me the atmosphere and sushi is not worth the price and a visit back, but that’s my opinion.
But you should still try it out because it’s unique and just opened so will get better and better.

Food and service was absolutely phenomenal! Enjoyed hands down the best sushi in Frederick and tried the Nomu Tan Tan Ramen and enjoyed every bit of it! Even the decor was gorgeous! Would HIGHLY recommend to check this place out!
