The interior was lovely, and I really enjoyed the bright space! When we arrived, there weren't too many people, and we were seated right away. It was so nice to not have to wait!
I was super hungry, so I decided to go for the chicken katsu plate. It came with fried chicken cutlets, rice, soup, and salad. Although I'm not an expert on Japanese curry, I thought it tasted great! And, of course, I couldn't resist getting a dessert as well.
The service was friendly; but I have to admit, it was a little too aggressive at times. We were interrupted quite a bit while we were eating and chatting. But overall, we had a lovely time! It was a bit pricier than we expected (~$30 each), so we might not be able to go back all the time, but we'll definitely be back again!
Staff was very kind and we were seated quickly and were given water almost immediately. Our food was served in trays and had many little side dishes which was very delightful. Their plates and dishes are to die for! Most of them seemed handmade and ceramic! The food was fairly good and their matcha crepe was very light and fluffy. 10/10 would absolutely come again and highly recommend the place. The food was fairly inexpensive too! spent about 67$ for 3 people. It was very empty when we arrived so please go and check this place out!!!
So the vibe of this restaurant was perfect! Very natural modern feel with lots of plants and light. This would be a great place to go and relax with some friends for small snacks and drinks, but I wouldn’t necessarily go for the main entree. The takoyaki was amazing, and well done! The curry however, lacked a lot of depth of flavor if you’re a curry lover. It needed more seasoning and “punch” of flavor. The tonkatsu was cooked well with lots of crunch, so that was nice, but again the curry sauce itself lacked a lot of flavor. It wasn’t bad, but I was expecting more from a place with “curry” in the title.
This is such a cute place. I really wanted to love it. The service here leaves a lot to be desired and much room for improvement. The abundance of plants and the decor make this such a lovely place to grab a quick bite with friends. My friend and I decided to check this place out together. We sat for over 30 minutes with no water even after asking. The food we ordered and tried was delicious and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend the fried squid and the salmon tar tar. This place should be on your must try list, just be prepared to wait .
We are Japanese curry lovers and found Karé Bars offering delicious! The tonkatsu curry was a great portion and the curry has a great mild flavor with a bit of spice on the end. The veggie curry came with a lot of tofu and not a lot of vegetables, which was a bit of a letdown. The Hamburg steak appetizer is fantastic and everything, while very familiar "home style" Japanese dinner meals, had enough of a unique spin on the flavor to impress us!
Service is slow - even though we were there early and there were maybe 3 other parties, it was a long affair. The food was worth the wait though!
