Relatively authentic place to eat dumplings. Their youtiao was crisply light and airy. They definitly tasted fresh. Sadly their xiao long bao was too heavy for me. It was too oily and did not taste super fresh. Even then, it was a bery good place. Their wonton soup was also delicious.
Professional, pleasant, expeditious, attentive owner and staff. Well prepared, well seasoned Shanghai cuisine. Good Shanghai dumplings. Fresh soya milk on weekend; salty soya milk is a must-try. I always had a satisfying, happy eating experience at this place, popular for Shanghai ex-pats.
Great food. Small dining room. Friendly service. Discount for cash payment. Free parking!
Very genuine, good steam buns and pan-fried buns with juicy stuffing inside (made from pork skins, only available during weekends). You know it’s great if you have been/lived in China. If you’re a vegetarian you won’t be able to enjoy those since the veggie buns are without the soup inside, but try the noodles instead (they are made usually without MSG too).
On Saturdays it will get really busy and you could end up with sharing a big table with someone else, but totally worth it. Bring a Chinese friend unless you’re familiar with the art of eating soup-buns.
The restaurant was once very good. I guess when they starts to get busy, they are using easy way to make their famous steamed soup dumplings. That is pre-make and freeze them in the refrigerator for faster service. Other things are still good. Baked turnip cakes and red bean cakes are great.
