Bethesda Crab House

Been open since 1961, so they are doing something right!! The crab cakes are excellent, large amounts of crab with minimal bread filler. Anyone who thinks Old Ebbitt Grill in Downtown DC has good crab cakes needs to try these - they are much, much better.

This is a great place to get crabs! We come every summer and love the atmosphere and quality of food.

This is a cool place to eat, I would recommend eating big crabs because small ones need so effort!! Kinda above average price, but the best thing their seasoning is GLUTEN FREE!! Most of their menu is GLUTEN FREE!! I would give it 4stars for if the decoration and walls are cleaner. Generally , it was a great experience, and I will do it again!!

When we went there was a deal on female crabs. They were on the smaller side but each one was filled with orange roe! Larger crabs are much easier to eat. At least... more meat with the same amount of work. We also got the clams and raw oysters. Everything was fresh and delicious.

I am giving the Bethesda crab House and obligatory four star rating, though I’m not sure they really deserve it. The restaurant is more of an iconic landmark then it is a very good crab house. It seems like the service is intentionally slow I’ll be at very very friendly and very cool. And as we all know, any Maryland blue crabs are better Then no Maryland blue crabs at all. It’s worth going to, at least wants that is.
