I admire a place that sets out to do something well and achieves it. At first, the sparse offerings of the menu at Colony Grill might be off-putting. There are no apps, no salad (but there is "salad pizza"), and no alternatives to pizza. What we have here are drinks and pizza. That's it. But what it sets out to do is enough if you're okay with having pizza. The pizza is good and service is generally fine or better. The offerings are relatively inexpensive compared to other restaurants in the area. The restaurant is fairly large and there's a spacious bar. There's also seating outside overlooking a plaza, parking lot and the rest of the mall which is pleasant when the weather is accommodating. By the way, the pizza is crisp with a thin crust. Be forewarned that the option for adding hot oil to the pizza will take it up to a spice level that's at the high end of my tolerance range, which I recented opted out of, preferring red pepper flakes that I can adjust myself. For those who are dairy intolerant, there is dairy-free cheese available. You can also ask for no tomato sauce if white pizza is your thing. If you set your expectations with only pizza in mind, Colony Grill is worth a try. Like me, you'll want to return from time to time even though my personal favorite is Neapolitan pizza, which this is not.

This might just be my new local favorite Pizza joint. Got a pepperoni and sausage pizza which was delicious. Pizza looked great and ingredients were perfect. Very high quality pizza for a low cost. The drinks were very affordable too. The waiter and GM were very nice, friendly and very attentive. Can't wait to come back and try a different pizza. Also want to come back when the weather is nice so I can sit outside.b. Highly recommend if you are looking for some tasty no gimmick pizza

I had Colony Grill several times in Connecticut, I was pretty surprised when it opened so close to my childhood home in Maryland. I have not been inside this location, but I have had delivery twice. The pizza has been a big hit. My mom can't really eat regular pizza anymore, and asks for this specifically because it doesn't hurt her teeth, it was also a bit hit with her brother who is also in his 80's. I think the fact that it is less greasy made it more comfortable to eat. I usually get the ground meat and onions. Everyone did get a kick out of the salad pizza. I enjoyed the crust on that one. The hot oil is HOT, probably a bit spicy for my crowd, but great if you like a kick. We order the double cut which really makes it fun to eat. Edited to add one more note: Colony is different than Frank Pepe's, which has a location in the Mall. Pepe's has a firmer, crisper, slightly thicker crust, and is a bit more rustic, and the New Haven CT location has a nice coal char. Colony is thinner lighter bar pie, it has a more tender crust, and is really easy to nibble one. They are both CT but different.

I love the atmosphere at Colony Grill. The staff is very friendly and it’s a great neighborhood option for grabbing a drink and some food after working from home. Would I like more menu options - sure, but it is what it is. I see it more as a great local bar with tasty pizza on the side. I like it a whole lot more than Quincy’s nearby which is packed, the food is meh, and the service and atmosphere leaves much to be desired in my opinion. I hope Colony sticks around!

DON'T LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. It's clear that Maryland didn't have REAL pizza in the region until Colony came into town. Being from NJ/CT originally, and having family in Stamford, where Colony originates, the pizza is EXACTLY HOW ITS SUPPOSED TO BE. The facility is clean. The staff is very attentive. The pizzas came out in a timely manner. For the comments that say the menu is not "big enough", then go somewhere else. Colony is a PIZZA spot that specializes in PIZZA and that's all they need. Overall, a great experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
