What can I say that hasn't already been said in other reviews?! I went to pickup from Bao Bei two days in a row! First visit was for the pork belly baos. They were delish. Loved the flavor and tender pork belly with the fluffy bao. I did order them fully constructed. Next visit, I think I'll order them deconstructed so those that are obsessed with the pickled mustard greens can add extra to theirs!

Second visit was full of swirly buns and sesame buns! So good when they're warm. Loved the softness of the swirly buns. I didn't use the sweetened condensed milk cause they tasted great even without it. The sesame buns were so fully of scallions and had the right touch of seasoning. These freeze great and re-heat in the air fryer very well!

Will be ordering again soon cause I need more of the sesame buns!

It should be noted this is a Ghost Kitchen and Kevin who runs it came out to greet us, since it's a little tricky to figure out location wise. He was very friendly and truly confident we'd love the pork Buns, and he was rightfully so. They are delicious!!! 🤤😝 mouthwatering, savory, and exactly as a pork bun should be. It is clearly made with love.

I highly recommend Bao Bei! Absolutely delicious Taiwanese street food in Rockville. Love the incredible flavor and texture of their buns. 😋 I ordered Tofu-rrific Bao, Toasted Sesame & Scallion Breads, and Brown Sugar Swirly Buns. Enjoyed them all so much that I ordered again in less than a week! Meals were packaged well and included a surprise gift. Wonderful service from Kevin. Looking forward to savoring another bun from here soon!

So. Dang. Good. Everything in a Bao Bei Bao pairs so well together. The tender and savory pork belly with the crispy pickled cabbage, the sweet peanut shavings and the fresh cilantro on top. You can also tell the buns themselves are handmade! So fluffy and bouncy. Almost all buns these days are machine made, which makes it too dense so I'm so happy to have a legit, authentic, handmade bao in the area!

I've had the chance to try out Bao Bei's signature dishes a few times and they've always been 🔥

From personal catering to the opportunity to visit Bao Bei's pop up kitchen, the food is always on point. It's always been difficult to find authentic Taiwanese food in the area and I am so happy that this new shop is bringing comfort Taiwanese food here! I had the gua bao and it had a great mix of juicy and fatty pork belly, with the pickled mustard greens, cilantro, and crushed peanuts+sugar. Another family member got the rice bowl and it was full!! Wow. And a third one said that the gua bao reminded him of the ones he had when he lived in Taiwan. 👏

Currently the store offers mainly lu ruo fan (braised pork rice), gua bao (pork belly buns - all parts including the bread handmade), brown sugar mantou (steamed bread) and pickled cucumber+wood ear. Hoping that the owner expands with more offerings! He was also sweet and added in a treat. Come support this local business 👐
