Exceptional service and of course , super good ice cream ! Tried their popular “chocolate batch” , I think it is called - but the cashier said that was one of the most popular flavors. It was delicious !
The waffle cones are the flimsiest, thinnest waffle cones I've ever seen. I could quite literally hear them cracking slightly as the man behind the counter lightly pressed the scoop of ice cream into the cone. Then, as my boyfriend and I were eating, ice cream started oozing out from tiny holes in the cones--that's how thin they were.
And as other reviewers have mentioned, the prices here are much higher than any other Ben & Jerry's I've been to (downtown Boston, Dulles Town Center, etc.). I understand that National Harbor rent is probably quite high, but paying just under $10 per small waffle cone is a bit much.
There is some good: I was here during day three of a rather large convention (MAGFest), and Ben & Jerry's managed to not run out of any flavor, unlike some other restaurants in the area that had run out of particular menu items. It's also a Ben & Jerry's, so like any other, the flavors are great.
The ice cream is great however the young guy working there was playing with his hair then turned right around and grabbed an ice cream scoop to make someone a cone. Did not wash his hands or use gloves. Unsanitary.
I mean, I know it's in the middle of a tourist shopping and food destination but does that justify high prices ?
I am usually nuts for ice cream and who can say No to Ben & Jerry's?
With a small cup priced at $6.50 with an additional $2.49 for a waffle I just wasn't feeling it.
They didn't have Americone Dream (my son's favorite) in the case but they had it for sale by the pint. A pint was $8.50. Let that sink in.
If I hadn't promised my son I would bring him ice cream back to the hotel room, I would have skipped it all together. So I bought a pint.
I must say that the store was well staffed and they were very friendly and courteous
A little pricey, but so delicious! Service was fast and the staff was pretty good. Great end to a long day of walking and sightseeing.
