La Chocita Restaurant

Authentic Mexican for sure, maybe too much so. I've been a few times and find that some dishes are quite a better then others. Quesadillas are a winner, as are fajitas. Also love the rice and beans. Otherwise a lot of the dishes are cooked ok but with lesser cuts of meat etc. I've had tacos that were largely fat and little meat. Finally, and I hate to say this but its true, I have had some pretty bad service here while others around me were treated to much better service and I suspect it is due to my not being latino.

The food is delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine. The following reasons why I'm not giving it 5 starts is because, 1-they dont turn on their AC in the summer! I've been here many times and I came last week when the weather outside was over 90F and I walked in and it was so hot!!! I asked the server if she can please do something about it and she just looked at me and smile. She did nothing about it. My partner decided we stayed since we were starving and we just wanted to eat. 2. We order a lot of food for two and we asked the server to please make sure we get some dishes first and then the large ones after, that way nothing gets cold, she brought ALL the food at once. 3. We ordered 2 juices and when they arrived, I asked her to please bring us water ( something I shouldn't have to asked given the weather and inside heat!), she came back with ONE GLASS OF WATER. When I asked her to bring a second one, she came back with the other glass of water almost 15mins later. By that time, we were already almost done with all our food. In all, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A PRIORITY IN THE RESTAURANT INDUSTRY AND THESE SERVERS SHOULD CARE AT LEAST BIT ABOUT IT.

Food is above average for the restaurants around here. It's not amazing but it's good. The food is well seasoned & they use good quality ingredients overall.

Very welcoming on arrival. Smelled wonderful! Love the choice of Tacos, it was so delicious. I forgot, when you sit down with your menu, they bring you a delicious bowl of soup on the house. All dishes are homemade and really fresh ingredients. Awesome!
