“I’ve been here on two occasions with varying opinions. First and foremost, the customer service is outstanding. They are pleasant and attentive which makes for a good interaction. My first time here the food was good and everything seemed fresh, suya was tender, rice and stew was spicy and delicious, and fried fish was flaky with a nice crisp skin. My second time here the food was subpar. The suya was very dry and some pieces were crunchy. The soup was still delicious, but my fried fish was rubbery and flavorless. It seemed over cooked and possibly reheated which gave it a bad texture. I’m giving this location 3 stars in hopes that my last visit was an anomaly. I will return to the location again to try all my favorites. If my third experience is similar to my first I will update the review to five stars. I am hopeful.”

“Reading through the other reviews, it seems it really is a toss-up on whether the experience will be good or bad. I've come here one time when in the Bowie area, when a friend and I couldn't come to an agreement on what we wanted for dinner. I found this place and though we would give it a shot. He had sushi and thought it was okay - nothing that stands out. I had a Thai dish; it was good, but not something that sticks in my memory. I do seem to remember the portions were generous, so that's good. The decor in the place to me was a bit odd and the place certainly needs a face lift. We didn't have any issues with the staff at all. Parking was easy as it is part of a strip mall. While I would return again, I would not make a point to drive out to Bowie to race back here.”

“It's humble beginnings for what appears to be a family-operated business. I've tried them twice now--once for fried whiting and recently for ribs and rib tips. While they are successful in getting their ribs tender, the outside taste like chips or sawdust from hardwoods such as hickory or mesquite that is burned at high temperatures--perhaps from liquid smoke. It's a bit overwhelming for me as it does not allow you to taste the rib meat and leaves a graininess in my mouth. The meat inside is tender but is borderline of being stringy. The sides that I had were the jambalaya rice and baked beans. I sampled the potato salad. The rice tasted like it came straight from a box of Zatarain's jambalaya rice with some internal tweaks. The baked beans was a version of the South Louisiana baked beans. It tasted if elements were missing such as the sweet ingredients to balance the tangy taste. The potato salad was just not good--dry cubed potatoes and overpowered with mustard. The fried fish was decent. This is one of the reasons why I'm giving them 3 stars. The other two stars are for effort and the kindness they show. Now for service...the workers move very slow. So, if you are in a hurry, by-pass this place. There seem to be a lack of experience on the back and front lines. The back line takes forever to read food order slips to prepare the order and the front line seems to be apprehensive in scooping the right amount for the sides. And, please don't have (what seems to be) the owner on the back line. He seems to bring more confusion to the ordering process. He hollers back and forth to the cashier trying to understand the food ticket --all while greeting people coming in. Conclusion: I like that they have launched one of their dreams and are going for it. I have hopes for this restaurant to be successful and want to support them. However, they'll need to do a few things: (1) consult with someone about the rub for their ribs, (2) improve their sides, and (3) work out a process where customers are taken care of within two to three minutes.”

“This Wendy's recently underwent a facelift and was updated inside and out, so it looks great. After the update, however, service went downhill and they were consistently out of some menu items. But I believe these issues have been corrected, based on our last view visits. The food has improved, service is faster, and the restaurant is cleaner. And they always have salads and chocolate frosties.”
