The Cove Restaurant & Marina

We ordered the Cove Cod dinner and a cup of chowder. We waited for the chowder, but it never came. We finally had to flag down the waitress and ask for the chowder. She said that she thought that we wanted it brought out with the meal. (Where did she get that idea?). We told her that we definitely wanted the chowder well before the meal. We told her that if we couldn't get it at least 10 minutes before the main course, don't bother bringing it at all. The whole meal came out 2 minutes later. Needless to say, the chowder went right back to the kitchen. BTW, the Cove Cod dinner was fairly spicy. My wife had to pick through it for the less spicy pieces.

Excellent location on the waterfront. Had a large group (over 20 I believe) for a surprise birthday party. For the most part, the service was excellent and organized. There were times it could have been faster and the main food was very slow in coming after the appetizers.

Nice place with a friendly staff. However, for the prices, the food is inconsistent and lacks flavor. Ive been here about 5 or 6 times now and I still cannot find a 'great' dish. Lobster ravioli was bland and watery. Calamari had too much better and was fried too much. The French dip sandwich was good though, as was the lobster roll.

Great food, had trouble getting a draft as they were out of the first three I picked. I did find a new IPA though so all was not lost. Actually I'm quite happy the other three were out. Danielle was our server and she was very attentive, will definitely go back in the summer, probably a Tuesday when it's not so busy though. The outdoor seating is quite a nice area also.
