“This is a great little Mediterranean restaurant. The indoor sitting area is small but there is outdoor seating available. The location is convenient to grab a bite while visiting Salem. The food is flavorful and portions are satisfactory. The baklava is a must-try with an authentic homemade taste. The wraps are both appetizing and fulfilling.”

“This place was great. We had a cheesy pizza with a balsamic drizzle, I forget what else but it was really good, out of our norm, and worth it. My son had a white pizza with pepperoni. I had to finish the second half. It's a good thing this place was there to offset the rest of the city. Highly recommended.”

“Went there with parents, husband, and toddler. Place was dead (went on a Wednesday night), so it was nice and quiet. Waitress was nice. Took our orders (three from the Portuguese menu, one breakfast, and one from the kids menu). One thing I have to say is do not order from the Portuguese menu if the Portuguese cook is not there. My husband's dish (clams and pork), didn't have the right sauce (he's Portuguese and knows how the dish is suppose to taste). The sauce was burnt. My mom got the seafood casserole and it wasn't even in a casserole dish, it just looked like a regular seafood dish on a plate (she liked it though). We didn't get the Mac n cheese we ordered for our child so we asked about it and the waitress didn't either hear me order it and/or didn't plug it into her order gadget. So my kid ended up filling up on bread and didn't eat much of it once she got it. Brought most of it home. Other than that it was a nice place and everyone seemed friendly.”

“Great place to get work done when need be and pretty good coffee as well to boot! That said: to the barista with the tan complexion, black hair, and tantalizing eyes that handed me my last (and third) coffee on my way out; hope I get to know your name next time. -Small Ice Late”

“Great fish & chips and burger with good steak fries. Dog friendly. On the patio. Had a glass of wine that tasted like it was from an old bottle. However, the beer was good.”

“Yeah, wow, that was one helluva lunch! Great food, quick service, reasonable prices, good location. Also, those fries are outta this world! The falafel pita we had met and exceeded expectations. What a place! AND it’s kosher!”

“Good food, though I'm not liking much the new BBQ sauce. The soda machine keeps running out of certain drinks with no prompt refilling. Cleanliness could improve. Employees are attentive and diligent. Will definitely visit again and update any changes.”

“It's own parking lot, which is great in busy Salem. Sizeable space. Indoor and outdoor seating. Numerous beer choices done in particular styles, with no more than 6% alcohol but with bold taste. Didn't eat but had cool interesting small menu. Ski ball game in corner.”

“Everything we had here was delicious! The staff were friendly and attentive even during their busy hours. There is a nice view of Derby Wharf, especially from the deck upstairs. They have a wide selection of oysters, but my table got a few different variations of fresh fish and they did not disappoint. There are a few options for those opposed to seafood, but come here prepared for sea fare. They also had a great selection of cocktails and local brews.”

“Disregard any and all reviews of restaurants serving burgers. This is the best one in Salem and maybe the North shore. I've never been let down. When it gets busy it can be a long wait for food. Ordering your burger with combination of onion rings and fries makes it a wonderful place.”

“I like Mei Lee Express. I think the staff is extremely friendly and they do their best to help you if you want to customize and Order. If you go in person to pick up food they always smile when they are handing you orders. In Salem probably one of the better of the Chinese to order. Very clean on the inside and you can tell it's a very tight-knit family that runs this restaurant.”

“Such a nice, wonderful restaurant. Their staff was very friendly. They have an appetizer dish of tortilla chips and a semi-spicy dip made up of minced vegetables that was very delicious. Their sesame-ginger salad was out of this world! So delicious and the portion size was just right. I would recommend this place to anyone. We plan on going back to Salem in September and we are definitely going there again.”

“The building is lovely - clean and nautical, without being gaudy. There is a good view from most tables. The outdoor seating is plentiful and attractive. There is a large, professional staff. Our food tasted very good. The shrimp cocktail was excellent. The sushi was tender and delicious. Our desserts - key lime pie and flourless chocolate cake - were wonderful and fresh. I had trouble getting my tuna steak cooked the way I wanted, so I switched to a different fish. At that point our excellent server became cold, distant and upset. So the manager took care of us at the very end of our visit. We were impressed with the quality of service, actually. This is a definite must for seafood lovers.”
