A real treat. A lot of food for the money. Fantastic historic building. The complimentary marinated cucumbers are delicious.

Not gourmet cuisine but very enjoyable meal nevertheless. Food is reasonable and the atmosphere is very pleasant, (remnence of days gone by when life was simpler). Good place for a quiet dinner or even a birthday celebration. It's chef won't win a James Beard award but you can count on a decent meal and a pleasant evening.

Great food, great service, prices are all inclusive. Great place for a first date. Highly recommend this restaurant

The Whately Inn has figured out the perfect blend of formal and casual: White table cloths and wait staff all in black in a non pretentious historic inn. High menu prices but all courses included. Roses for the ladies yet a house wine at $23 a bottle. The Deerfield Inn should take note.

We ventured to the Whately Inn for the first time last night, and my expectations were exceeded! The service was impeccable, we were seated promptly, and our server and busboy were excellent. When you order a meal here it comes with an appetizer or soup, salad, and dessert and coffee. I ordered a Pear Martini that was delicious and strong, followed by a Sangria. I preferred the Martini, but the Sangria was good as well. I ordered the baked stuffed lobster, and while it came with the lot of stuffing, I really enjoyed the meal. The rolls were excellent as were the dill cucumbers that accompanied the garlic rolls. As an appetizer I ordered the mushrooms, which were good, but my husband's Chicken Tortilla Soup was better. The Au Gratin potatoes were nice and cheesy. My favorite part of the whole meal was the brownie a la mode. That was the best brownie I've had in a while!!! I will definitely go back. This is an old school restaurant that I hope stays around forever. My night ended with a beautiful red rose that is currently sitting in a vase at my house. I will be going back to The Whately Inn!
