The Smoke Shop BBQ - Harvard Square

our experience at Smoke Shop Bbq Harvard Square was just okay. We tried a couple of cocktails, biscuits and gravy and Pit Boss Breakfast Tray with Ribs, Burnt ends and brisket.

Cocktails were underwhelming and watered down.

Pit Boss tray was mostly okay. Burnt ends and brisket were good and quite flavorful. However, the first place ribs were mediocre. Meat wasn’t falling of the bone tender and sauce wasn’t all applied liberally.

Biscuits were excellent. Gravy, though, was bland.

Service was really good. Wait staff was congenial and attentive.

Food and service were superb! We came on a weekend (I think) with reservation. For the drinks, they have tons of whiskey so if you don't have a preference (like I do), the waiter/waitress will gladly recommend it. For the food, I would recommend the brisket, the burnt ends, the pork belly burnt ends and the ribs. The turkey was surprisingly not dry at all. The wings were good, good amount of smoke. Potato salad, fries and coleslaw were good choices of sides for me.

This place is an absolute gem. Fantastic whiskey list and old school cocktails, amazing smoked meats. The attention to detail in everything is really appreciated. The service was beyond amazing. This place is everything I want in a barbecue joint.

I tried this restaurant recently, and I was quite impressed. I had the pulled pork sandwich and the portion size was quite reasonable. I felt quite good after eating and not bloated. The sauces were also fairly mild and didn't overwhelm the natural flavors of the food. Would definitely recommend.

I mean, C’MON! The flavors were a thing of beauty! It was well packaged. Well-proportioned. And I had to remove myself from the table so I wouldn’t eat everyone else’s meals! The cornbread was the best I have ever had. The burnt ends were delicious. The chicken (my son’s plate) was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The butter cake? It should be outlawed!
