I’m a college student attending classes in downtown Lowell. This fun spot was an amazing find me for because their service is so fast (maybe took 10minutes max for my food and drink to be ready), the portions r pretty big for the small price, and the food is excellent! I wish I’d discovered this earlier in the semester lol! Will 100% be coming back. The service was also super nice and patient with me.

I'm always on the hunt for a quick and delicious Vietnamese bite, and this place definitely hits the spot! 😋 The restaurant is clean and inviting, and the food is simply amazing. I highly recommend the Vietnamese crepe - it's a must-try! #vietnamesefood #eeeeeats
I live around the block and there aren't many tempting food joints within walking distance from me. Here's what I love about District 5 -
The food, obviously. I've visited twice and twice I've gotten the tofu banh mi. It's the first banh mi I've ever had so I have no reference for what might be good or otherwise, but the balance between fresh and savory on a crusty, but soft roll is what got me here two times in one week.
The tofu itself wasn't terribly flavorful, but that mayo on the sandwich is everything.
The service at the counter is friendly. They even dropped my food off at my table when I was waiting.
I like that it's casual dining. Nobody waits on you, just grab a spot and eat. The eatery itself is confined, but spacious enough to be comfortable.
It's affordable. $9 for a sandwich and then a couple bucks for a tip. The quality matches the price, but it doesn't feel like an expensive outing.
This place is fantastic, the best Viet food in a crowded field in Lowell. Excellent banh mi every day, and specials like banh xeo and banh cuon on Friday and Saturday. I think we can confidently say the city has the best Vietnamese food in the region, thanks to places like District 5 😊
The food is good and reasonably well priced for this casual eatery. We ordered 2 bahn mi (one chicken, one tofu) and spring rolls.
The bahn mi tasted great. The bread was toasted and the filling was cooler & delicious. I had two _small_ gripes:
1) the bread to filling ratio was off. There was too much bread and sometime I felt like I had to work to balance the flavors.
2) there’s a pork based pate added to all of the bahn mi. I can’t eat pork and didn’t know it was in the pate until the staff member mentioned it after the tofu bahn mi was ordered. I feel like this could have been flagged earlier.
Ultimately, this is a solid spot and if I lived close by, I’d probably be back semi regularly.
(P.s, The drinks looked fabulous. We didn’t get them, but I’d trust that they’re delicious!)
