Overall a very nice experience. A good addition to add depth to the restaurant scene around Maynard. Overall the dishes we had were nice. As others have pointed out the pork with blue cheese sauce was slightly over cooked and therefore tougher than it needed to be. The Pulpo ( octopus ), was particularly good. The Brussels sprouts, not typical Spanish fare, was a nice surprise. Tapas is under appreciated outside of big cities in America, so it’s nice to have a place like Azucar here in the Suburbs. Try it!
Went there for dinner on a Saturday afternoon.
The place was lively, great upbeat atmosphere, the wait staff were friendly, polite and professional.
The tapas were great same with the drinks.
To top that there was a live band to entertain the customers.
I’d go again.
Booking online beforehand helped.
Cheers!
My husband and I live a few blocks away and decided to try this place the other night. First off, the ambiance is super cool!! We need more like this in Maynard, it's hip, it's cozy, it's cute. The food was pretty stellar too. My husband being the critic he is mentioned that there were a few things missing from an authentic tapas experience but that's because he's from the middle east and used to travel to Barcelona frequently. I personally thought it was great, I'm a mushroom and garlic fanatic and they had the best combo dish of this! Highly recommended, go go go!
Wonderful food, excellent preparation! The staff was excellent. The interior design is beautiful, comfortable, and classy. We really enjoyed ourselves the first time there. The challenge we had was that we had three people in our party but the table we had was way too small for numerous tapas plates in addition to drinks plus a large pan of paella. I'm not sure how to solve the problem, but I spilled a full plate of food. The staff and manager were great about it though, and comped us with replacement dishes.
We were blown away first by the transformation of the design from the old restaurant that was there to the atmosphere now! Wow! It has a cozy, tasteful and romantic style. The place was buzzing with life! The staff all had smiles which says a lot about a place. Everyone was eager to ensure a great experience. The music definitely helped set the tone. The food was sensational. Small bites of flavor and many options for vegetarians as well. The Sangria was so delicious too. I honestly felt like I was back traveling in Spain that’s how good this experience was!! Maynard has another 5 star little Gem!! We will definitely be back! Well done!!
