We shared Rhode island calamari with tomato sauce and banana peppers, sushi chowder and wonderful gray sole. For desert, we shared a warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Good choices from a limited menu
I've been dining at Legal for four decades and still consider it THE place to go for seafood. My grandson (not quite 4) had heard of Legal from his friends and wanted to go. I was delighted to acquaint him with the place and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious (I had the baked stuffed shrimp) ... buttery and perfectly done. This new location has a modern feel, with lots of glass, and overlooks Hammond Pond. Plenty of parking available. I found the staff to be quite friendly and their product knowledge is superb. And any concerns I might have had about bringing a small child were unfounded ... they were wonderfully accommodating. Five stars for sure.
We had a pleasant dinner on the patio tonight with a nice view of the lake. My lobster bisque had an overly salty kick to it, but was otherwise prepared well, and our sushi and fish dinners were all fantastic. Only downside was that I was planning to have my meal wrapped up along with some of my companion's salmon on my plate, but they discarded everything besides some fries and clams I originally ordered and didn't bother throwing in the tartar sauce. Bit of a pet peeve of mine when restaurants only bag half your plate, because I don't like to waste food. Overall though a fine time and we plan to return.
For lunch today I had fish tacos (3) which were delicious! I think they used fried cod with some salsa and a delicious sauce in a corn-influenced soft tortilla that held its shape. Very messy but great! The rice and beans that came with it were nothing to write Google about.
