Bloc Cafe

Not what I was expecting. Food was good but service was awful. We had to bus our own table and when we did the cashier gave us attitude because we didn’t know where the dirty dishes go (at the other end of the cafe under some stairs) because it was our first time here. Overall, it was fine, I probably won’t go back. The food was good but not good enough to go back again with that service.

This has been my go to weekend place. Love the atmosphere ,cute vibes, lots of different types of seating options indoor & outdoor and yum food too. Classic Egg & Cheese with Jalapeño Cheddar is my all time favorite.
Its a bank turned into cafe , so you also have seating areas in the vault.

I feel very lucky to live near such a cozy coffee shop! Bloc is unique because it used to be a bank back in the day. You can even sit in a few areas that used to be vault rooms. The coffee is always wonderful and the staff are kind. They also have smoothies and seasonal drinks like cider if you aren’t a coffee lover. Their patio space is by far one of the best in Somerville.

Can't speak to the food, but the coffee is very good! I don't come often so I always love to try the rotating seasonal drinks. Bloc puts a lot of care into presentation and the vibe. It's in the basement of an old bank building and they've decorated it very well. There's generally plenty of seating and it's not too loud, so I've used it as a first date spot a couple of times.

Great coffee and pastries -- cardamom pastry was delicious and they were able to adjust my cappuccino order to be stronger / less milk. Pretty busy on weekends but they have a big space with lots of tables and so we were able to snag a spot without having to wait for too long, and even when it's busy it doesn't feel too cramped unlike other cafes in the area. Vibes are good and staff is always friendly!
