We have had both the lunch and dinner service here and both are just WOW.
The lunch service left us craving more of the amazing flavors they extract from each component of the dish. So we just had to come for the dinner, which left us extremely full but very happy! Honestly the food is out of this world. The wine pairings were just perfect and extremely well thought out. If we lived closer we would definitely be regulars, but this place is definitely worth traveling the 775 miles from Bermuda for. I can't recommend this place enough, probably the best experience in a restaurant I have ever had - having been to places like the Fat Duck in the UK, Rich Table in San Francisco. Whoever left a bad review must be a jealous chef or restaurateur that just can't get up to this level.
Add it to your to do before you die list, you will not be disappointed. Fantastic and so with the times as far as a food experience is concerned.
Awesome food, prepared in a very sophisticated and refined way. Gourmet in every sense, absolutely zero weak points. They should be listed by Michelin at least as an emerging venue, IMHO. Definitely recommended, and not crazy pricey.
This is a unique experience; the food was delicious and the wine pairings were great. However, it seems the 1 hour slot to feel rushed; I found myself chugging my wine to catch up with each new course pairing. That said, it’s something to see and experience at least once.
Almost everyone was courteous, friendly and helpful, but I was really disturbed by the behavior of the “co-owner.” There was a sign that said doors opened at 12:30pm so we (and many others) mistakenly went inside only to be rudely escorted out to wait for our seating time, which was never clear from the emails.
I understand our time was at 1, but the appropriate thing is to put a sign or send more information in the email about waiting to be called upon or arriving exactly at 1. If you’ve never been before, it can be very confusing. This woman escorted multiple people out in cold manner without even considering the error might be in their confusing sign, and once inside she didn’t smile once to any customer once we were seated. For the amount of money they charge, it would seem they’d want to be kind to their clientele and have them recommend the experience to others.
The $35 3-course tasting set during wine bar hours is excellent. Tax and service included, no tipping, just delicious beautiful food. The chairs are a bit awkward to get into but comfy once seated. I do miss Mara, though - the wine just isn't the same without her.
Perfect for a special meal. The food and drink pairings are excellent. I love how the food is continuously cooked and presented to you. It's entertaining.
