Mu Lan Taiwanese Restaurant (Waltham)

Haven eaten at their Cambridge location, I was so excited when I heard that they had opened a Waltham location. I was not disappointed with my visit. It was everything I was hoping for. I had brought some American friends who grew up eating Americanized Chinese food, who only knew Chinese food as dishes like, Crab Rangoons, Chicken Fingers, General Chicken, etc. They were very open minded and curious to try some authentic Chinese/Taiwanese dishes this is the perfect place to have brought them. Not only do they have traditional dishes that I loved and grew up with, but it also has a lot of dishes that fit the comfort zone of those who are not so familiar with traditional cuisines.

Finding parking here is much easier than their Cambridge location and the place is much bigger so if you have a party that is on the larger size, this might be the better location to come to. However, both places are amazing and make some of my most favorite dishes.

My girlfriend and I prefer this location over the Cambridge one. Less busy and a bit better service. Food is really good but be warned if you have a peanut allergy! They have peanuts as a starter so if it's serious I would not recommend going. The food is definitey worth it though.

This place serves Taiwanese style Chinese food. The restaurant is nicely renovated and has a welcoming atmosphere. Lots of windows and natural lighting. Every table is served with peanuts and pickled vegetables. The selection is quite slim compared to similar Taiwanese restaurants around the area. The prices are relatively higher than comparables. The food quality is average and excessively oily. The service is a weak area. We did not get refills or checked on after food was served. It wasn't even busy.

There are many of our favorites items here that we love. Super fast and great service. It's been more than 2 years since the first visit and every visit since then, everyone makes us feel welcome no matter how busy they are. Food always great :)

This is one of the Chinese restaurant we kept going back even it's out of the way most of the time. Dishes are served very quickly. And very delicious. Definitely recommend for anyone interested in Chinese food.
