Ohhhhh, my tastebuds are so happy!! The steak flatbread was FANTASTIC! An amazing drizzle sauce. Gorgeous atmosphere. If you're in downtown Plymouth, check it out. I can see renting this out for my client appreciation party.
Great place! Lovely staff! Terrific wine! Michelle is asset to company. She keeps customers coming back!!!!
Awesome atmosphere to taste wine: live piano music, tasty flatbread with lobster. Not expensive yet elegant and relaxing bar. We are coming back!
It was the first really springtime weather Saturday night of 2018, and after a super-busy week, my amazing girlfriend wanted to sit outside and have a drink, so we drove down to Plymouth to see what we could find.
Not surprisingly, we were *not* the only people who had the same idea, but hey, we New Englanders love when our winter ends and we can open our windows to longer daylight hours and spring's gradual warmth.
We went to the Waterfront Bar & Grill, were told it would be an hour's wait, but hey, my girl deserves some fun, so we agree. It's super-loud downstairs, so we go upstairs where it's even louder and more crowded. The bar is about three people deep. It's Cinco de Mayo so there are margaritas, tequila shots, lots of Bud Light, and people waiting for Brown Eyed Girl to come on so they could belt out the tune.
I politely told her this wasn't going to work (omg), and we walked down the street where we stumbled upon 1620 Winery. There was an available couch in their outdoor seating area, so we were all in.
The waitress told us up-front that this was their first outdoor seating night of the season and they were trying to figure things out, like, how to get the firepits to work (that would have been awesome). Totally fine.
We each order a glass of their own wine, and relax away from all the belly-bumping, Sweet Carolining, Celtics-cheering revelers a few doors down.
We both thought the ambiance was what we wanted and will be even more so as they get into their groove.
The wine was okay; we won't order it again, but were glad to try something new.
The menu seemed super-small to us, but that's because we weren't bright enough to realize there were two sides to the menu page (#notaproudmoment). We ordered meatballs and the margarita flatbread. My girl enjoyed them both, particularly mixed together.
I ordered another glass of wine, which never came. The waitress sincerely apologized, and we understood - it's busy indoors, quiet outdoors, and it's their first night for outdoor seating. Not a problem.
The waitress then comped us one of our glasses of wine by way of apology, which was really nice.
All in all, we're glad we went. We're going to go back, and assuming they get their outdoor seating ironed out, this three-star review will climb to four or five.
Oh, and maybe I should add that I liked the wine glasses, but my girlfriend said "absolutely not," so I wasn't able to liberate it and add it to my collection.
If you're more wine that woo woo shots, then maybe drop by.
Here's to spring!
