Absolutely love this place. I went a week ago and I’m ready to go back. Big Freedia is the drink to try. Got the chicken sliders, oysters and I enjoyed every moment of it. The food is well seasoned and cooked thoroughly. I also like the diversity of the staff and it’s a welcoming place for professionals and families. The dress code isn’t strict there.
I *love* this place. Unfortunately, I don't live in Boston, but if I did, I'd be going here all the time. Being from the south myself, I'm always on the lookout for good southern food in the northeast. This place delivers on the promise of good southern food and drinks, and the biscuits live up to their namesake in the restaurants title. Love the outdoor seating area as well. Highly recommend, and I will definitely my friends know to stop by if they're in the area.
Had the warm honey glazed biscuits and boneless fried chicken thighs.
It wasn't the quality of the ingredients nor the presentation that differentiated this place from other typical southern restaurants - the craftsmanship in their sauce production was absolutely on point. The infusion of honey and other savory ingredients in one of their butter (that came as a side with the biscuits) was brilliant, and I also liked how their sweet & sour sauce/white BBQ sauce was made in-house with ingredients that could perfectly harmonize with their fried chicken. However, for the price, I think they could be more generous with portions as nothing I tried were upscale or gourmet.
Very nice, relaxed atmosphere, fabulous for casual and delicious dining. Falling short of that last star for negative attitude given after a server error was made and we waited 30+ minutes for our last entree to come out. If you can grab a section with a positive and capable server your dining experience will be incredible. Those Nashville Hot Gator fries brought our taste buds to life!! Yum!!
Buttermilk & Bourbon proves to be an excellent choice for those seeking delicious southern food elevated to a new degree. Everything from the wedge salad (and its delicious mild horseradish-based dressing) to the fried chicken stood above any iteration seen before. However, the biscuits were truly the star! I recommend getting these pillows of delight for your next gathering here. Though a bit steep in price ($14 as of writing) they are sizeable and amazing.
Ambience, food, and wonderful service.
