Really good value for many. Don't expect fancy meals or a romantic place but the food tastes good and comes in very big portions.
One of the few places where you can eat well for under 10$
The lady doing the service was also very kind, always looking if you needed more water or tea
Ordered pork fried rice and got plain rice with onions.
How do I get a new order. Even though this was last night. It wasn’t worth eating at all
I am a foodie and an aspiring chef. I have been eating at Hsin Hsin cafe since 2009, pretty much at-least twice a month, if not more. It is by far my fav place in Backbay for its consistency in taste, genuine courteousness of the chef and hostess, freshness of ingredients, cleanliness and a zen minimalist ambiance. And the price ! A bowl of soup, entree and their steaming pot of tea for $9 !!! It's a place to pick up your soul in winter, open your heart in spring, rejoice in summer and fall. Try their Schezuan Tofu..........I have always walked away restored !!
The service was courteous and prompt. I do think they need to advertise to make themselves more visible since they are not on the main thoroughfare. Overall, I would give my experience 3.5 to 4 stars.
On the advice of two friends, I wandered one day into Hsin Hsin, in Boston's Back Bay, a restaurant that politeness prevents me from describing as anything other than “modest.” I stopped by a couple of years ago to have the not-at-all-bad scallion pancakes and a pile of sloppy-Joe-ish chicken served over a delicate and fluffy rice plate hand made by the proprietors, but I rarely thought of it again.
