La Summa

What a place! Came in on the fly and had a wonderful conversation with the owner who was just a sweet and interesting person, romancing about the days in Italy and other things. The service was impeccable, the music spot on and the food ... my goodness, was fantastic. This is the real deal, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Hanover. Wish we had a place like this near our place .... they know how to create loyalty in customers.

This was the perfect Italian restaurant! We were looking for something authentic that we could go into at the last minute without a reservation for an early dinner. Some of the places on the north end just couldn’t fit us in as they are the more popular destinations, but honestly I am so thankful we needed up here instead where there were less crowds and likely fresher and more interesting cuisine. I was traveling with my mother and we wanted a great Italian dinner. We each had an arugula salad which had a delicious lemon and peppery vinaigrette dressing and bits of fennel root and buttery Parmesan cheese. We took a risk with a wine we had never tried before called Barrera and it was very dry and delicious and paired beautifully with our meal. For dinner I had the special shrimp and pasta with red sauce and cream. It was magnificent! My mother had the ravioli with meatballs which was also splendidly made. Our service was also wonderful and we were given a great recommendation about where to have dessert.

Great find. Like having dinner with an old friend and this was our first time there. Barbara came over to our table make sure everything was to our liking. It was even better than that. One of the best values in town. Wonderful experience, great restaurant and great food. La summa is an absolutely top-notch Italian restaurant with the huge advantage of not being on the typical tourist radar. We had an incredible meal and experience there and then walked back where we came from through hordes of people waiting to get into the well-known Italian restaurants

Amazing food, fabulous people. We felt like we were invited into an Italian family home and fed with love. The neighbors all joined into the street food setting and we had our own party. From drinks to dinner to desert the aura flowed of joy and happiness. Best part of our trip to Boston.
