Shabu-Zen

Beef is great! Mongolian spicy broth is good but original house pork is rather bland. Portions are small but at least they give you a lot of vegetables. The tables are very nice!

Extreme food experience with minimal localizations - loved it! Everything is fresh and raw. Amazing smells coming directly from another planet. Loved it.

Very very impressed with the quality of the meat available here. Vegetables were nice and fresh, waitress was very attentive, was so happy with her service I wrote her a thank you note on the check. They don't have a sauce bar, but they do have some you can mix if you ask for them. Will absolutely return when back in Boston!

We really enjoyed dining at Shabu-Zen after kayaking on Charles River. It is absolutely fun to cook your own meat platter, and veggies... I recommend choosing a spicy broth, and complimenting with a Kiwi smoothie 🥝 It was pretty slow when we went to visit (~4pm), though I imagine it gets quite busy later in the evening. Check out this location if you're looking for a cool experience, or date with yummy cuisine!

BEST place to have a hot pot in. whenever I visit Boston I stop here. They have the best & fresh hot pot ever. kimchi broth is the best.
