Our waiter, ‘T’ was awesome. Made great recommendations, played the best music for us, and was super accommodating. The food is amazing! We will be back!!
I was walking around Kenmore Square yesterday looking for a nice place to eat and came upon Tsurutontan. I had myself cold mentaiko udon and appetizers. They were so good. It’s perfect place to have small meats with friends when you don’t know where to go for lunch.
I was excited for some great udon and sushi but unfortunately was let down :( the udon was decent but not exceptionally good and the sushi was not very good. The raw fish was cut up inside the basic rolls (not normally done with higher quality sushi rolls) and the avocado tasted mushy/off. On top of this, they initially brought us the wrong sushi rolls and no one checked on us for so long that it then took extra long time for them to bring us new ones. (I wish we just asked for a refund on the rolls). The waiter was kind and it didn’t seem like it was his fault, but the experience overall does not make me want to come back- especially given ~$25/person.
Very good-sized portions. Original dishes and very good ambience. The soup noodles are a good size, but the cold noodle dish was notably smaller in portion with less variety to it, as well. Overall great quality food and great noodles. Would still highly recommend!
