Kenzo’s is newly opened and we wanted to give it a shot. It’s a bit of a fusion between American and Asian. You like surf and turf? You got it. You want just a nice tomahawk steak with creamy mashed potatoes on the side? You got it.

    Ambiance:
Elegant setting. Slightly dimmed lights. White table cloth. Perfect for a romantic date or a family dinner. Sushi bar seating is available as well.

    Food:
I’ll be sharing all the dishes we ordered and my opinions.

    Lobster Bisque:
Phenomenal. I personally like my bisques on the creamier side and this satisfied my cravings. Full of flavor and plenty of lobster meat to complement the bisque. This felt like home on a cold, Saturday night.

    Torched Salmon:
Torched salmon on a bed of cucumber, topped with roe, lemon zest, and ponzu sauce. The components mended perfectly together. Not only was it light, it was refreshing. The flavors balance extremely well on my palette.

    Lobster Bomb:
Absolutely one of my favorite dishes so far. I immediately tasted the ginger dressing (almost like an aioli type of thickness), but not long after, you get to the center like a Tootsie Pop. Boom, an explosion of flavor with additional lobster meat and balsamic glaze. Honestly, the ginger dressing + balsamic combination was better than I imagined. It truly provided some jazz to the flavor profile.

    Nutty Tuna:
This was amazing. I want to focus on something - the almonds. Not sure what it was but it tasted so toasty and fresh, absolutely no sense of staleness. This cylinder was formed on a base of granola which actually added a nice touch of sweetness to balance things out.

The other tuna roll (forgot the name):
Very good. The mayo + unagi was a nice touch, but more importantly, the tuna is extremely fresh.

    Kerrygold-Butter Fan Maki:
First of all, kerrygold is my favorite butter. Undeniable. Secondly, toro is my favorite cut of tuna. You mix these two together, you get yourself a nice melt-in-your-mouth roll. The tuna was insanely fresh.

    Prime New York Sirloin:
This steak was SUPER tender. Definitely exceeded my expectations. It might be reverse seared based on how tender and well cooked the inside was. Medium-rare, perfect tenderness, perfect heat, perfect bite. The red wine reduction provided an ounce of elegance to the plate.

    Mashed Potatoes/Mushroom + Onion medley:
Very creamy, flavorful, and a perfect side to the steak. The hint of garlic sealed the deal with every bite. Mushroom medley was a great addition as well to help balance the palette.

    Crème Brûlée:
Crème brûlée is one of my favorite desserts so I’m a big critic (personal opinions) when it comes to this. Kenzo’s crème brûlée was so satisfying, beyond words. It had a softer texture to it, served perfectly warm on the outside with a cooler balance on the inside (not cold, I’m not a fan of cold crème brûlée), cinnamon, and whipped cream. Great way to end the meal.

    Service:
Everyone was hospitable, from the hostess to the sushi chef to the server. Not a single complaint. Food arrived in a timely manner as well.

Overall, highly recommend Kenzo’s. If you’re coming on a date, the food will make your girl’s toes curl. If you’re coming with family, you’ll enjoy the ambiance and the food together, no doubt.

Tonight was probably the most I ate in one sitting all year by the way, that should signify how I felt about my meal.

I've been a fan of Kenzo's for many years and was thrilled he had a new location. Place is elegant, easy to get to, with ample parking. Staff friendly and eager. Food OUTSTANDING! Two of us dined, beef bulgogi, udon noodles, Shrewsbury roll and Crabrangoon Maki roll, all made to perfection. Also splurged on dessert, carrot cake, most excellent. Both of us enjoyed the food, top quality and had leftovers. Prices in line with the type of establishment. Well worth it.

We have been so excited for Kenzo’s to open and finally got to go on Friday. We were happy to see that at 5:30pm the restaurant was filling in. The full sushi menu wasn’t available yet but what we had was delicious and so fresh. The lobster bomb cannot be beat! Our steaks were excellent and overall the setting is great. We look forward to returning again soon and enjoying all Kenzo’s has to offer!
