Riverside Canoe Trips

What a great afternoon kayaking the Lower Platte. The folks at Riverside Canoe Trips have an efficient process for getting you on and off the river. The staff was friendly and the store had anything you might need. We hope to take on the Upper Platte the next time we are in the area.

I've been on many Canoe trips and this one was spectacular. The water is so crystal clear you can see the aquatic plants like they were in an aquarium. The only tough spot was heading towards the Lake centered in the middle of the canoeing path but once we got past that it was clear sailing, or should I say rowing, until we reached Lake Michigan. Once were at Lake Michigan they picked up the canoes and there's a great spot to play in the surf of the crystal clear waters of Lake Michigan with the enormous sleeping bear dunes in the distance.

Great place. Five stars for sure.

This trip was amazing!!!! It cost $25 a person for a kayak. The duration is about 3 hours. I believe $30 for a bigger kayak which my husband chose. There is a $25 dollar deposit which you will get back when you return the oars and life jackets or cushions. Amazingly peaceful serene trip down this river that so crystal clear. You will see awesome wildlife as well if you keep your eyes peeled.

Fantastic and friendly. We started our float in the late afternoon and saw very few other people on the river. The staff helped us spot our car and picked up our kayaks at the end. Crossing loon lake and ending our trip at lake Michigan was incredible. We saw dozens of king fishers, heron, and even a bald eagle fly right over us. Our 4 to 13 year olds all had a wonderful time! Will definitely be back!
