This was the most authentic meal I had on a 4 day trip. I had a swedish dish and it reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. Simply delicious and the waitress was wonderful as well. Bought muffins on our way out after thanking her for the great time and they were great the next morning as well. Wish we had a place just like this near me as I have not found anything like this before other than my grandmother who has been gone for many years.
Good, stick-to-your-ribs food. Good service. We might go back, but only if our local friends wanted to.
This is our favorite daddy and daughters weekend breakfast spot. I love the veggie omelet. We all love the swedish pancakes and bacon. There are so many great meal options. The staff is nice and my little girls like to shop for stuffed animals and look at the many clocks for sale on the wall. An authentic experience you really should visit.
Swedish traditional flavors served with love. Super picky kiddo ate 2 orders of pancakes. The sampler platter was a delicious collection of Swedish specialties. Husband had the pancakes with meatballs. The restaurant was short staffed but still served us like we were top priority. (They could have been super annoyed but instead chose to be charming. Maybe that explains why the pancakes seemed amazing ?) The eclectic decor is cheery and had kiddo counting that birthday money burning a hole in his pocket. We felt very comfortable ... great road trip stop. Oh and very good coffee. The menu offered non-Swedish themed items as well, but we decided to go "all in" considering the restaurant. The bread was very good, a flavor and quality that are hard to find in other parts of the country.
edit: Tweaked wording and fixed a typo.
A must visit in Escanaba. Best Swedish pancakes EVER! We were skeptical of the meatball side, but the perfect mix of sweet and savory made our day. Also got to try the lemon meringue pie-- smooth and flavorful. The service was not only prompt, but kind, informative, and most importantly welcoming, as if we have been regulars for years! Great boutique in the lobby too! Highly recommended!! Enjoy!
