“This business is mobile and they set up behind my workplace today. This sandwich, as shown in my photo, has a generous amount of ham and is perfectly cooked. The soup was very good as well. It was served in a small cup that might normally be used for cappuccino.”

“I’ve eaten here twice and love the food. Both times there was about a 30-45 minute wait for food so plan accordingly! It is worth the wait!”

“I wanted to like this place. It was recommended by our lodger. We were exhausted from a long drive and got to the restaurant around 7:00. There looked like there were plenty of patio seats but apparently not. We were told we would have to wait for a rather large party to clear out and offered to wait at the outdoor tiki bar or the indoor bar. We had minors and felt that wasn't appropriate. The dinning room was nearly empty aside from the random patrons going to the salad bar. We were finally seated about 7:20. Daily special was prime rib and the server listed about four things they were out of. We finally got our orders in and he came back saying they were out of the prime rib too. The restaurant wasn't as busy as we thought it would be for a Saturday evening and for the wait. The food was okay for the price but you are really paying for the view. I wouldn't recommend a mixed drink, stick to the bottles or tap.”

“Open 7 Days a week. Very nice atmosphere, great food, extremely friendly staff and clean. Eat inside or out on the Patio, Music, Adult Beverages & Excellent food! There is a fundraiser going on right now to help support 4 "Emotional Support" Dogs that will be used at the Gladstone Schools. I think this is a great cause to help support our children. As far as they know, they are the only city doing this. Not sure if that is just in the Escanaba area or the U.P.”

“This is a great hotel. The rooms were very nice and they have activities available. My husband was able to check out a bike and do a little exploring. In the morning we checked out some kayaks for awhile. The staff was great. They were very friendly and helpful. We also liked that they had a coffee shop on site. Highly recommended!!”

“Very good pizza. Very friendly folks. We are from out of state but have a camp down the road. Never in my life would I have thought I could have hot fresh pizza at camp for deer season. They said 25 minutes and we were so hungry we were there in 24 and she was just adding the finishing touches to the BLT pizza. Right on time. Fairly priced. I am biased to BLT because I grew up in a town that has the best BLT pizza ever (Pit Stop Pizza in Sheboygan WI) but this was pretty goood. Maybe add a little pizza sauce and a bit more Mayo but again I am biased. Loved the fresh lettuce and tomato. Thought the crust was incredible but more importantly to me is the customer service and interaction at the counter! Hate to see silly bad reviews like “took and hour” or “they don’t deliver far” on a new business. They’re figuring things out. It’s not like it’s a pizza shop in New York City for cripes sake it’s Rapid River. Fresh pizza is hard to come by do we want to bash them and have to resort to disgusting frozen pizza or worse yet dominoes/Pizza Hut. If you think Pizza Hut is good I worked there and trust me it is disgusting how their pizza is made. I just ate hot fresh pizza at my 1940s era camp in the middle of the woods with my great grandpa looking down probably saying something like “holy wah in my day we ate a can of beans and sauerkraut and thought we had it good”!”

“This was the perfect lunch stop for us to make while exploring the area. The two young ladies working were very nice and attentive. Everything we had was delicious! I had the Philly cheese steak, My husband got the Ruben and my daughter went for a chocolate chip pancake with a slice of bacon. We all left full and happy. The prices were good too! I snapped a pic of their hours because I couldn't find them on Google.”

“Looking for a Friday Night Fish Fry last evening. The place was PACKED at 5:30pm. We went on the wait list then found bar seats. Great bar staff . Hands down the best fried fish we have had since traveling in the UP! Had the Blue Gill and my husband the Whitefish. Light and airy fry-DELICIOUS!”

“Sunday, on the way headed to Iron Mountain from Detroit we stopped in to have a quick bite to eat. The bartenders Lisa and Becky were working. They suggested the combination appetizer platter for the 3 of us. It was great. Make sure to try the owners homemade Jalapeño jelly. Make sure to grab the microwaveable Pork Rinds. The Rapid River Pub was so awesome we made sure to stop in on our way back home. Met two more amazing bartenders named Krista and Heather (who was training) who were also great. Make sure to grab their Tacos for Taco Tuesday!”

“Our server was very nice and attentive. Usually in a small town people can seem very impersonal, you know, nice but not nice, but this gal was genuinely wonderful. The fish sandwhich I had was amazing. And the mushrooms, to die for, and gigantic. Loved this place.”

“The pizza is excellent. Homemade dough and sauce cooked in a brick stone oven. With that being said prepare yourself for a wait when you come in and order. It is not uncommon to wait an hour and half up to two hours for your pizza. The ovens in the back are small and the cooks have to allow time for the pizzas to bake. There are a lot of people that call in order and do pick up. So please be patient, sit down, have some drinks, relax, and enjoy.”

“Okay, let me first say that if you are looking for a “typical” hotel/restaurant, this is not it. It feels a little like a B&B, but it’s not. It’s a little odd and quirky. People are super friendly , the fish fry excellent (wish they served potato pancakes like in wisconsin), and the rooms quaint (but odd). The rooms are interesting furnished, worn, but clean. The bed had an excellent mattress and I slept like a baby. If you are looking for different, but nice, check it out.”

“Warm atmosphere, quick welcoming service. Delicious hoppy IPA. Homemade chips were excellent, hamburgers made to order with perfectly toasted/steamed buns! Also a fresh house salad, all the food we saw looked great! Many choices of food, large busy kitchen, smooth operation start to finish.”

“Swedish traditional flavors served with love. Super picky kiddo ate 2 orders of pancakes. The sampler platter was a delicious collection of Swedish specialties. Husband had the pancakes with meatballs. The restaurant was short staffed but still served us like we were top priority. (They could have been super annoyed but instead chose to be charming. Maybe that explains why the pancakes seemed amazing ?) The eclectic decor is cheery and had kiddo counting that birthday money burning a hole in his pocket. We felt very comfortable ... great road trip stop. Oh and very good coffee. The menu offered non-Swedish themed items as well, but we decided to go "all in" considering the restaurant. The bread was very good, a flavor and quality that are hard to find in other parts of the country. edit: Tweaked wording and fixed a typo.”

“Great place to eat- excellent Italian food. Our party enjoyed all of our entries. I had the salmon fettuccine, which was awesome. The fish was grilled perfectly so it was tender and moist; noodles and sauce were rich and tasty. The bread and seasoned butter to start was fabulous. Artichoke dip was an wonderful starter.”
