Hunan Garden

If your craving Chinese I definitely recommend this place. The crab Rangoon is wonderful and I had the best bowl of wonton soup which could have been a bit hotter in temp. Very reasonably priced!

This is our 3rd day in the UP and I was hungry for Chinese food after not being able to find any Asian restaurants in Munising for two days. We ordered two entrees that just hit the spot. Kung Po chicken was just the right amount of spiciness for us, and the stir fried mixed vegetables with a light sauce were so delicious. We finished everything on both plates. We came on a Tuesday night. There was just another group eating at the restaurants beside the two of us, so it was nice and quiet. Hunan Garden did bring the Chinatown to us indeed.

The place is old. Needs updating. Owner is ok. Not so friendly to us while we were there. Server was nice but ignored us after we got our food. The food was ok. The appetizer plate wasn't bad, but for $14, there was little on the platter, as you can see in the photo. The burner was nice. Some of the appetizers were a little cold, so we could warm them up on the burner.

Appetizer medley was delicious, as was the sweet and sour chicken. Sizzling Seafood was very good, but the scallops were gritty. Service was very good and extremely friendly. Atmosphere was a little dated and worn, but that did not detract from the food.
