Beggar's Banquet

Burgers. Alternative Rock and Roll. A great rotating tap menu. Comfortable, rustic surroundings. Any bar that names itself after a Rolling Stones record has my interest. The Black and Blue Burger is one of the best burgers I have ever had in my life. I'm not kidding. I'm thinking about moving closer to Beggar's Banquet so I can eat there more often.

They have a good selection of vegetarian items! The service was great, decor was nice, and the food was amazing! Reasonable prices too!

I have had brunch here a couple of times and recently had dinner. The food is mostly delicious. Eggs Benedict are good. We had the sirloin steaks for dinner, which were delicious. The seasoning was awesome. The only food I didn't like was the banana foster for dessert. It wasn't cooked. It tasted like they heated up the carmel sauce and tossed the ingredients together. The banana was raw and the rum was strong because none of it was actually cooked. Service was good. I'll be back but will pick a different dessert.

Visited on Saturday during East Lansing’s art fair. No wait for a table, but the servers seemed a bit overwhelmed. Excusable due to the event though.

The brunch was simply outstanding. I had the veggie bowl and was impressed. My 11 year old got The King, which is basically a cross between French toast and bananas foster. She gave it 5 stars.

It’s a little dark inside and feels more bar than restaurant, but not so much that it’s weird to eat there with kids.

Overall, I say it’s one of the best breakfast/brunch spots in Mid-Michigan.

I would definitely recommend this place, the food is really good. I got the Beggar's Bowl and it tasted much better than I expected. The portion size is also large, I couldn't even finish and that is rare for me. The restaurant style is kind of quirky and I think it's cool. 4 stars because the customer service was decent for my first time. I will most likely be back, overall it is a great spot.
