I am from Detroit and very excited to try Mr Corned Beef in Lansing.
This place does NOT disappoint! I ordered the Pastrami sandwich on an onion roll and it was delicious! When the gentleman handed me my order, I thought, "this is supposed to be a lot of meat?" Let me tell you, it had plenty!
Please frequent this place as I want to see them thrive!
•Yes, I recommend this place!
•Yes, I will be back to eat again!
We had a delicious corned beef on an onion roll with slaw and swiss cheese, we will absolutely get this again. It is a large sandwich and my wife an I shared it to see if we liked it, the slaw was perfect and the cheese made it perfect. We also tried the potato salad and banana pudding, both "small" size, enough to share. The potato salad tasted homemade and the banana pudding has sliced banana in it. We also got a ham and cheese sub to try but we ended up saving it for lunch the next day, it was also very good with grilled ham, but the corned beef is an absolute winner. Unfortunately there is not inside seating right now but there are 2 picnic tables outside.
Finally we have a place serving delicious corn beef sandwiches in the Lansing/East Lansing area. However the sandwich size does not match up to the price. I usually get corn beef sandwiches from Detroit. I have not been to this place Detroit location but most other places serve you a generous portion of meat well worth the money. I do plan on visiting the detroit location to see if they are the same. But like I said very delicious sandwich. I just looked up the Detroit menu and now I feel some type of way.
I have been twice. The Corned Beef and the Reuben were both really good. A minor suggestion would be to get rid of the plastic bags and use deli paper. The bottom bread kind of suffers. All in all a great place.
Mr. Corned Beef is the real deal! Just had an incredible corned beef sandwich on an onion roll with Swiss and mustard! The corned beef is sliced thin, stacked high and you’d swear you were in a New York City deli. I added a side of potato salad and it’s my favorite style; creamy and the potatoes were cooked to perfection. Do yourself a favor and support this local gem!!
