Best hand rolls in town. Though they have shrank the size over the years. Great aesthetics and atmosphere. The only bad part is competing with Starbucks for parking. Wait staff is always friendly and hard working.
Normally I would give this place 4 stars but I am going to give it 5 because we are talking about Jackson Michigan. I would be please with this place in Ann Arbor but in Jackson it really is a gem.
The inside is very sleek and modern. Exceptionally clean and there are a ton of great windows. The view in is much better than the view out but what can ya do.
The sushi was moderately priced for sushi. A spicy tuna roll I believe is $6 and their fancier specialty rolls were $14-$16. The rolls aren't huge but they also aren't small.
My dad got one of their noodle bowls. He is the type that doesn't let his mash potatoes touch his green beans and thinks guacamole is unnecessary (how are we even related!?). So the fact that he really enjoyed it and later said "would you be offended if your mom and I came here without you?" Is a pretty big compliment.
Always good! Great service too. We are lucky to have them in our community. The takeout platters for parties are amazing. If you like spicy try the angry bird!
The food isn’t bad.
But like most Americans restaurants tips are expected so the experience isn’t as enjoyable.
The hosts aren’t very great either.
In September 2018 when my family and I came here they told us that another group of 7 plus a baby had just been seated so they had no seating for us until that party left. There were many other tables that could seat smaller parties open in an area that were next to each other. We asked several times if we could be seated there (we said it was fine if we weren’t all at one table) but the girls didn’t get it. It took about 3 times to get it through to them. Either they weren’t very bright or didn’t want us to stay. I would expect the restaurant to be more accommodating and even offer to put tables together to make the customer happy. This is why I no longer dine in here unless whoever I am with wants to.
This is a great sushi place. The food is good and it's expanded (a while back) dining area has a lot more room. Just got take out this time, but I'll be back! Great job AKA!
