Food and experience was wonderful. Interacted with many different employees there from hostess and server to chef and manager, all seemed genuinely excited to be there and took pride in there work. Great space that is very inviting. Food was amazing. The octopus was the best I've had since moving from the east coast. Great for sharing. Try something from every section of the menu. Can't recomend enough.
Marcona on Lyon feels like a hidden gem in Grand Rapids. Tucked away in a quiet corner neighborhood. We started with an app and a skewer. Fried cauliflower and a type of lamb sausage. Both were very good. Next we ordered the braised Lamb and Mediterranean sea bass. The lamb probably one of the best meals I've had in a while. The sea bass was wonderful. Our server was so friendly and a joy to talk to. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and was very helpful. We enjoyed our time there and can't wait to go back and try more.
This is a perfect addition to the neighborhood! Love the unique food, the tasty cocktails, the unusual wines, the lovely decor and the amazing staff! Bonus...it's close enough to walk here. :) The menu changes, this last visit I devoured the Garlic Chicken. I wish I had a photo of the bottles of wine that we ordered...next time. Note: Can get busy - Use their suggested app to get on their waitlist.
I have visited for both dinner and brunch and enjoyed every moment. Each dish is so well thought out and presented beautifully. The flavors are unlike any other restaurant in Grand Rapids and probably difficult to find restaurants in other cities that have such a diverse range of internationally inspired dishes within one location. It felt like I was eating on vacation in multiple countries.
All of the staff is quite pleasant and well informed on what they have to offer.
Honestly, I love how unique Marcona on Lyon is and look forward to working my way through the entire menu (even though I imagine it will be ever changing seasonally).
Fabulous service and food! Feel so fortunate to have gotten there for a beautiful end to a gorgeously sunny Sunday! Had the sea bass as well as the clams and mussels. We could not have enjoyed it more! And we split a piece of the divine orange pistachio cake w chocolate granache....perfect!
