Family Kitchen

We really like this place. The food is consistently good and the variety on their menu is impressive. It is a place that is mostly frequented by retirees by my observation, however there are plenty of customers from all age groups. There's not too much that's glamorous about this place, as it is definitely a "greasy spoon" type of diner, but sometimes that is exactly what a person needs in their life. Their menu is huge and you'll find some gems hidden in there so it's worth looking at in detail. We mainly go there for breakfast, but we went a couple of times for dinner and I got something that I've always enjoyed, but that I hardly ever see in restaurants. It was liver and onions, and they give you the option to have it served cooked with bacon. They give you a BIG plate of it and it's cooked perfectly. I know liver isn't a super popular dish, but I grew up eating it and I really enjoyed eating it here. Their breakfast food is great every time too with respectable portions. This place is a great local spot for whatever food is going to scratch your itch, however, the only reason I didn't give it 5 whole stars is the appearance of the place. At a glance a person might consider it kind of dirty at face value. When you look closer though it is actually very clean, but the whole place needs updated and refreshed. You can tell everything in the place was installed in the 90's and it's getting to be time for a face lift. There is a big difference between old and dirty vs old and clean. This place just needs to make it more obvious to the average customer that it is in fact older and clean. It could be that the reason they've not updated is because they don't charge enough money for their food. Everything on the vast expanse of a menu is priced in the range of extremely affordable. It's kind of rare to find a restaurant with such good good at such good prices. I would definitely recommend Family Kitchen for any meal of the day.

Why is it so hot in there all the time? Especially in the summer. It makes it quite un enjoyable to sweat while eating.
