“Jayell Smoke House catered our wedding on 6/28/2019. The wedding was just outside of the Lansing area. The wife and I, and our guests, were more than pleased with the food. Here was our menu: Appetizer: Burnt Ends 3 Meats: Brisket, Pulled Pork, Mix of Spicy and Regular Sausage Sides: Cornbread Bake, Potato Salad and Baked Beans We really liked how they pulled their smoker out to the wedding venue and cooked on the spot-it was a really nice touch for our barn-wedding and many of the guests commented about how they loved pulling up to the wedding and could see and smell dinner. While we were eating my wife's brother had no shame in mentioning that the cornbread bake was in his 'top 5 things' he's ever eaten. I completely agree! We also felt that the value was quite reasonable. Weddings are expensive, and to be honest our dinner was one of the few things that I really felt was priced competitively. Working with the folks at Jayell's was really easy too-they were prompt with returning phone calls and when we went for initial tasting they were very low pressure. The food was so good that it did that talking all on it's own. One of my favorite things was that the gentleman that catered the wedding held back a few servings of the appetizers for the head table, since we were busy taking pictures when everyone else got to enjoy them. I 100% plan to make the trek to Romeo for some carry-out in the near future and would easily let them cater any future event.”

Just a note that you should check their summer hours if you’re planning a visit as they may be closed for a week or so during summer months. “I am giving 3 Stars because I an well satisfied with food and service. Upstairs entertainment venue is a 1. Reasons are: At 6/8 Journey Tribute, even with ear plugs was so loud my ears were about to bleed. Emphasis on bass heavy (keyboardist was laying on bass notes continually). Hello, with a bass player in the band, the keys BS should have been lowered considerably in the mix. Everything is direct to the board there, so the guy running it has 100% control. Great potential with the infrastructure investment they've made, but live sound should be entertaining and not punishment. In additional, house mix during band breaks should be low enough for guests to communicate without SCREAMING. Want this done right ... I can do WAY BETTER, and if interested first one is for free to prove it.”

“They catering my son's bridal shower in April. Talking on the phone with Francine was fine but she is a little shattered with details. Watch when emailing information, mistakes happen. They showed up at a different time then quoted, which was a hour early. Everyone said the food was very good but not even half in we ran out of salad. We had less people then expected so that should not have happened. They were nice enough to give a refund on the salad. Would recommend but be a stickler on details.”
