An outstanding addition to the Marquette County and UP food scene. The best Italian cuisine up here, hands down. The antipasto were amazing, with tender octopus and deliciously pickled quail eggs. The caramelized onion lasagna was delicious (although not much to look at), and the risotto was rich with flavor (the rice was either perfect or slightly under done, depending on your taste in grains). The meat ball platter was good too, but the simplest and least interesting of the courses. Honestly, the antipasto was the best course. Cocktails on menu were fantastic, but a Manhattan was served in a glass full of loose ice (?!?). We didn't have room for dessert, so can't comment. As a whole it was wonderful. I'm not sure the prices match all the courses, but I'm optimistic that Strega will make it past the opening and beyond the initial bumps. I look forward to trying it again, but maybe a la carte.

This is the best Italian meal I’ve had in years, and I had an Italian grandmother. Everything was cooked perfectly and the music and atmosphere was also perfect.

    Absolutely loved this.
Went with the strega experience and would recommend this route. You get get an antipasti, 2 pasta courses and a meat course. Well that was what was offered for today, and the menu is subject to change to what the season has to offer.
Unfortunately I didn't get a good photo of the antipasti. The love apples were excellent. The octopus was sooo good, in my opinion. First time ever trying octopus and loved it. Also on this plate were green beans that IMMEDIATELY brought me to a garden and eating them fresh off the vine. Sooo good along with the carrots. We tried and enjoyed the whole plate.
The first pasta was a caramelized onion and wild mushroom lasagna. This was so good. So very good.
The second pasta was a spaghetti type noodle in a pesto. Again and a consistent theme, sooo good. We both enjoyed this dish a lot.
The meat dish was braised pork with roasted potatoes and roccolini.... unbelievable. Tender. Flavorful. Delicious. LoL. Unbelievably delicious.
The wine that was paired to the menu was as well sooo very good. A white with the first antipasti and then a rose with the 2nd pasta and finally a red with the meat course.
We did get the tiramisu and it was one of the best desserts I've ever had. In fact this whole experience might have been the best food I've ever had in the Upper Peninsula. In Marquette county, this might be the best food I've had. It was about a 2 hour dinner, we were not rush and felt comfortable. We spoke with the staff while they made the rounds and all were the best! Enjoyed meeting them all and can not wait to MAKE A RESERVATION for my next experience.

I'm not saying that food can fix your life, but after eating here I definitely felt like someone picked me up, dusted me off, and gave me a hug. The service was amazing- I forgot to mention I was allergic to shellfish while ordering but our server came back just to ask about dietary restrictions. Everyone came by to check in on us! The atmosphere is funky and friendly. I never once felt like I was being rushed or needed to hurry up. I was allowed to take my time eating and enjoying. The food itself was beautiful. I'm usually hesitant about eating new things but please! Try the Strega experience (the family style meal). Every dish was carefully thought out and felt like it was made with intention and love. Delicious. Simple, but technically sound. It feels like you're eating what someone's grandma made while she makes more in the kitchen. Absolutely will be going back.

Phenomenal. Just incredible food all around. I would consider this the best restaurant in the UP and I cannot wait to come back soon to taste the rest of menu. The quality is on par with many of the best restaurants downstate and each dish came with it's own complex flavor that showed years of experience and love for cooking. I will definitely return for the friendly staff, amazing food, and calm atmosphere.
