John's Cafe

In the Dawda Mann Building. Open to the public, with ample free parking. Carry-out, or eat in the nice atrium. From the entrance, just go through the elevator lobby and there is John's Cafe. Nice variety of entrees- it's tough to settle on just one. The variety of salad fixins is always crispy fresh and well-selected. The marinated shawarma chicken is excellent. Do not leave without sampling the Baba Ghnoosh!

It is always great to stop at John's Café. His staff always greets you with a smile and their prices are very reasonable and delish!! If you love chicken lemon rice soup this is the place to go to on Woodward!!

First time here today and you can tell John is one of those guys who is happy to do what he does. Every customer I saw walk in while I was eating talked with John as if they were best buds. Service was absolutely top notch and totally customer focused. I know I haven't talked about the food yet, but I admire a man like John just from his attitude alone. It's just that dang impressive.

Okay food wise, cheap prices for the area and just the kind of Greek diner fare you're used to in Michigan. I enjoyed every bite and felt satisfied in both stomach and wallet at the end.

John if you're reading this, keep being you bud. You as a person is what got me to do this review. No matter how good the food is I only write reviews if I like the person behind the business.

I found this place here on Google maps while in Michigan for a wedding. The location is not visible from the street, but it is located inside of the building next to Merrill Lynch. There is a parking lot with free visitors' parking. I got two eggs scrambled with cheese, hash browns, two pieces of toast with jelly, three pieces of bacon, and an orange juice from the cooler for about $7 (including tax). The food was pretty good, except for the hash browns, but I'm not a big potato person. The lady recognized that it was my first time there, and was patient while I decided what to order. She showed me the seating area and told me that she would bring me my food. The owner actually brought out the food. He was very kind and very talkative. He asked me about my trip, and thanked me for coming in, even after I had trouble finding the place (I called for directions after driving past it). I would probably come here again if I ever return to the area.
