I would for real die for this place, their sushi is hands down the best sushi, the employees are always so sweet, service has never been bad and I love the live music nights! When I say they have best sushi I mean it!! I have gone to multiple other sushi places around this area and in different cities some more expensive and still no other place compares to big wave!! It tastes so fresh and they are bite size (unlike other places) if I could give 10 stars I would!!!!
Always outstanding ????. Every thing on the menu is top notch. Staff is friendly and the music is always good. Go here if you're craving something extraordinary!! Worth the trip and time. Dine in or carry out.
Pricing: 3.5 stars
Food: 3 stars
Customer service: 3 stars
Atmosphere: 4 stars
Overall: 3.375 stars
Pricing: $6.50 for 6 rolls of spicy tuna, with chewy seaweed. $6.50 for 6 rolls of the crispy shrimp roll (shrimp tempura). $3 ginger salad. Some of the prices seemed a bit high, when looking at the menu. I've gotten 4 sushi rolls for $20 and they were better than the rolls here.
Food: Both of the sushi rolls were extremely small. Fish didnt taste fresh and hard to eat considering the uncomfortably chewy seaweed. The ginger salad was very garlicky and had a lot of ginger (to be expected), but overall I enjoyed the salad.
Customer service: We waited FOREVER for the food and the service was just alright. Our server was sweet, but rarely came to check in. Would appreciate the servers to check in (for drink refills, if we needed anything..) or let people know when their food is almost up.
Atmosphere: Pretty neat and chill. Aesthetically, this place looked cool. Loved the live music, and I wish people tipped the musicians (I gladly did... but got some weird looks from the customers?)
Verdict: Not the worst place, not the best. I usually share two sushi rolls with another person. I was there with my friend and after sharing the rolls, we found ourselves debating trying another roll (after finishing the two). Since we didnt want to wait another 30 minutes for one roll and we didn't want to pay for another mediocre roll, we decided just to go back home and make some food. I believe the first visit does say a lot about a restaurant. I wouldnt HATE to come back, but I wouldnt CHOOSE to.
Nice, cozy sushi place that offers live music on Fridays and I think Saturdays. The inside reminded me of a coffee shop which was something I enjoyed very much. If you like hot tea I highly suggest you try their tea bar. Great selection of different teas I had never had before.
