Downtown Cafe

Quaint breakfast kitchen. Cozy. Reminds me of a country kitchen with an upscale flare. Cloth napkins. Good smiley service. Busy, but we got right in. $30 for 2 people (includes 20% tip). Prompt service and good food. I had the my standard 2 eggs over easy, hash browns sausage links and rye toast. The eggs were done perfectly. The hash browns were interesting: a baked potato halved and grilled face down, served face up with the top diced. A kind of half hash brown/baked potato creation. I liked it! My wife had the Avacado Smash: an avacado smashed on a piece of whole grain toast, grilled tomato slices, poached eggs, purple onions, & feta cheese on top sprinkled with (parsley?) Flakes. She loved it!

Had better here. Food was kind of bland today. Border- line fresh. Service was definitely new outside.. Hopefully turns around. Will give it another chance, it's a tough neighborhood with so many excellent restaurants within 2 blocks.

Very great food and such friendly service! A must try compared to the overly priced brunch house also in Rochester. Still very good but this may have been better! Eggs with chorizo were such a great combination.

this is where the locals eat. i eat where the locals eat wherever i go. i live near here so this is like a secret place for the locals. its very small and cozy. the noise level isn't too bad. the service is excellent. food is well prepared restaurant food. timing is important because there's no pl;ace to wait . the last time i was there i gave up my table and waited for a window table to open up. they had it bussed and cleaned i am not in a hurry nor am i important. people remember me because of my code of conduct. plus i tip heavy. i have to give back somehow and charities don't interests me.
