“Gas is always high in this area. It's not just the Shell gas station here. Been like that for at least 10 years. In any case, the inside looks better than the outside. The employees are pretty good and are cool. Store is usually stocked decently. Ice is fresh. They also have really good chicken and fries made fresh to order. Cheech's Chicken I think it's called. As a big plus, they also have a bitcoin machine here along with the lottery machine and atm. They are open 24 hours. It's a good gas station. Had to knock off a star for the high gas though.”

“I've been coming to this location (Southfield) and the Birmingham location. I really like both. The Southfield location I frequent more often and I've only had one issue and the staff fixed it right away. I really appreciated that. My smoothies have been perfect! I also purchased a salad a few times and they were delicious! I think they have a very nice, customer-focused staff and they are always pleasant. The menu items are well prepared and I will continue coming here.”

“This location deserves nothing less than 5 stars. There were only two ladies working the day I went . They were not extremely busy but they received consistent calls and orders which they handled quite well. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the jumbo shrimp was cooked to perfection. What I mostly appreciated was the fact that the lady cooking was more concerned with providing food cooked to perfection instead of just fulfilling the order. The shrimp was not cooked until after the chicken was fully cooked because as everyone knows chicken takes a lot longer than shrimp. The two ladies deserve a huge raise because they delivered the best food out of all the Captain Jay’s locations in or near Metropolitan Detroit. Great Job Ladies!”

“Well above average you buy and we fry restaurant. Order ahead will lessen the wait for your food. Have a couple tables and fountain drinks (Pepsi products 😝). Very large shrimp so the price of the fried shrimp is worth the cost. Cod's batter coating is just the right thickness. Hush puppies are a little over priced because how small they are and how many you get but almost as good as those legionary Long John's Silver. Will be back.”

“I ordered their standard rubber with fries and a drink. This sandwich came packed to the brim a softball sized layer of moist and savory corned beef. The ratio of dressing, Is sauerkraut, and corned beef was perfect. The home made French fries were addictive and better than most burger joints! Overall the food was amazing, and would hit the spot of anyone with a large appetite looking for a great mid day meal. I should note that this level of cravings satisfaction does come at a price though; the meal was about a $17 total.”
