Fun, little restaurant with unique pizza's made with special biga dough and plenty of beer options. Service was good and the food was good. Nothing spectacular, but fun and an interesting place for a sit in meal.
I like going to Bigalora. I've been going there since it opened and will probably keep going until it closes, but the value isn't there like it used to be.
Several years ago, you could get a lunch special with a cheese pizza, a bowl of soup, a drink, and a bread basket for $10. A few years ago they did away with the lunch special and the soup and drink became a la carte. The price of the cheese pizza stayed at $10, but you still got bread on the table.
In the last year, they discontinued the bread. So, for $10, you can get a personal cheese pizza, no bread, no pop, and no soup. If you want to add a bowl of soup, a pop, and an order of bread, it's over $20 for lunch, which is kind of ridiculous.
In 2015, I went there 35 times for lunch (and have the credit card charges to prove it). This year, I think I've been there 3 or 4 times. To me, that's easy math.
Superb minestrone, classic Neapolitan wood fired pizza. Wonderful wait staff. Save yourself some Euros and flight time...just go to Franklin Rd. north of Northwestern Highway. Yum.
If you're looking for quality, fresh pizza then this is the perfect place. Always have had a delicious meal and the atmosphere in the restaurant lends itself to pleasant company. The food comes fast and always with a smile from the helpful servers.
