4th Tavern Lakehouse

This was our first visit. I ordered Hand Battered Icelandic Cod with fries and coleslaw. The fish and fries were very good. I didn't care for the coleslaw, but I think it's just personal preference. I like slaw that is sweet. This wasn't and you could actually taste the cabbage. Some people might like that better. My husband had French Dip with sweet potato fries. No complaints. In addition to the standard menu, they have a breakfast menu Monday-Saturday from 10am to 3pm. On Sunday they have a bunch/breakfast buffet, but also options for lunch or dinner. And a full bar for those interested. I should also mention they have a covered but open outdoor patio that overlooks a lake.

Went here on a Wednesday and they had half off wine! We split a bottle of Riesling that was sweet and light, the steak bites appetizer was a tasty pairing! The steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce was rich and savory! The patio had good seating to watch the sunset on the lake! A great deal and a great meal!

Pros: Great, fresh options menu. I got the broiled Michigan whitefish and thought the portion was very generous it just needed more seasoning, as did the mashed potatoes. Also, thought the spinach & mushrooms was amazing side. Well done! Great presentation.

Cons: VERY noisy inside. We were yelling at each other. I would try and sit outside if possible. We also had a few mix ups with our sides, but made it work. It’s always nice if a restaurant staff member actually asks if everything is OK and makes you feel like they are taking note, but this never happened. We also asked three staff members for utensils and finally got them. It’s this kind of stuff that newer staff needs to be on top of.

I think if they get their staff up to speed, get some noise reduction panels and add a tad bit more seasoning, they are going to do great!
BTW I’m still thinking about the inferno burger. I’d get that next!😆🍔🌶

Popped over here for the first time and definitely didn’t regret it! Fantastic selection of food with an array of options that caters to anyone’s taste. Being in the industry myself (which makes me very nit picky with service) I was beyond impressed with my server Whit. He was remarkably hospitable, personable, and incredibly attentive. When you come here, you should definitely ask to be in his section. Contrary to what you might read in the other reviews, it’s a very reasonable price point for the colossal portions of excellent food you receive. Will be back!
