“Arrived in town at dusk by boat. Easy walk to restaurant. Excellent maple plank whitefish. The Dutchess potatoes was scrumptious, and the fresh green beans were awesome. Lake perch was so so and could use some capers. However a quicker bread delivery with softened butter for the starving sailors would have been nice. Staff hospitality made us feel very welcomed. I recommend this place.”

“I enjoyed my experience at this bar. Based on the pictures, it looks as if they remodeled the place, or at least rearranged some of the stuff. When I came here, I was with a group of about 15 people. It was on a Sunday evening and the place was pretty quiet. So for the waitress, it must have been a little overwhelming. But she certainly held her own as she didn't forget anything or screw anything up. She wasn't that slow either; at least not for as many orders there were at one time. The atmosphere was cool. There was a pool table with a lot of sports memorabilia. There was a neat picture of Adam Sandler from Happy Gilmore too. I found that to be amusing. There were quite a few TVs as well, which is definitely a plus being that there was a football game on For food, I got the chicken wings as a starter and a chicken sandwich for the main course. Both were pretty general and nothing really special. Looking back, I wish I would have gotten the chicken twister. A lot of people in my group got that and it looked so much better than what I ordered, unfortunately. Overall, great atmosphere and terrific service. Their menu is not too deep and it's really just typical bar food. However, the chicken twister appeared to be a hit.”

“Food was good. Our server was friendly and attentive. Average prices. Not great but not bad either. Typical of Northern Michigan restaurants, the wait was a bit longer for the food to arrive. I don't mind this at all, so it's not a negative. I've noticed some folks post bad reviews because of speed of service at local restaurants. It's a slower pace here and restaurants can get overwhelmed with out of town visitors. Be patient and kind and have a great time.”

“Visited Rogers City and stopped by the pavilion grill and absolutely loved the food. Got fries with chili and cheese, hotdog with chili and cheese and some ice cream and they all tasted delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely view as well right next to the lake.”

“Wow! This place was amazing! My mother is a local and she said it's a great family owned place, she was right!! I can technically only speak to the pizza, cause that's all I had. However originally I wasn't going to get pizza but when I smelled the pizzas coming out of the kitchen I had to get it. I am so happy that I did, my pepperoni and sausage pizza was one of a kind, truly amazing that they can make a common Pizza taste so great, honestly! I recommend to anyone to at least try Up North 23 out...oh and the fries are fantastic as well.”

“What a serendipitous lunch. Stopped for gas, decided to have lunch and luckily Scill's was right next door. Had a couple of great sandwiches with perfect fries. But the desert of naan bread dippers sprinkled with salted caramel with cheesecake dip was the "the bomb". Add on friendly service and we were set to take on the road!”

“Came here for breakfast while camping at Hoeft State Park. Truly a gem, and so happy we decided to go out for breakfast. All of the meats came from a butcher shop in town. Some of the best breakfast sausage I've ever had. Homemade bread for toast to top it all off. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had.”
