Shaker's Restaurant

I have mixed reviews on this place. The appearance is nice and the welcome was okay. You can tell it is a local place and the service was a bit slow. Good food!! Though I did have to literally wrestle with the TP roll and the floor a as very sticky in the bathroom. Over all it wasn't a bad experience.

Went with my son and daughter-in-law to be when I was at Houghton Lake had a very nice time in the meal was very good.

When we come to Houghton Lake we try to eat here. Their food is always good. We love their Brosted Chicken. We get it family style. We've had other meals and they are always great. The staff are always friendly. There is one problem. They do such a great job, that sometimes they are full up and we can't get in. So take an early or late lunch for better chance of getting a table. This is a family owned restaurant and the food is good home cookin.

It was just ok. Waitress was wonderful. One of party ordered breasted chicken. She told us it takes 20 minutes to cook, but they would time our food so it all comes out at once. Well, her chicken was amazingly hot. Our fish and potatoes were just warm.
We didn't have the time to send it back to reheat. Not sure if we'll be going back...

My family & I stopped in 10 minutes before closing on a Sunday night,
(Whoops), although the staff was just as friendly as if it wasn't close to closing. The Food was good, and off we went 30 minutes after they've closed. (Whoops again!) my wife left her phone behind. We called, they answered, and waited for us to get back to get the phone. Major thumbs up, we were up for the weekend at out place, but live 2 hours south of Houghton Lake. Thank You!
