Good pulled pork sandwich and excellent corn bread. I say good not great because the dry rub had too much cayenne pepper. It should be a good balance of smoke to heat and they probably threw an extra tablespoon of spice in. The service was on point and the building itself was unique transitioning nicely from old town to new industrial. I will definitely be coming back here again given the chance.
Near the end of a two week road trip, we stumbled across Fuel.
Based on the logo and name, we expected a run of the mill strip shopping center BBQ place. But this is anything but. They're in a beautifully restored old town storefront with lots of free parking out front.
And it was one of the best meals we've had lately.
Tiffany was superb as our server, the beer list is long, and the food choices are varied. We each ended up getting a one meat item dinner that allowed us to choose four excellent sides. Portions are ample, and there's a large selection of unusual sauces on the table. Long story short, for about $33 plus tip, we were very happy.
If you're in Port Huron, make a point of trying Fuel. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Wow, great food, reasonable prices, fantastic proportions, and Wonderful Service. A wood floor, with tables, and a bar. But somehow delivers a fantastic casual dining experience. The bar put together a Really Nice Jack Daniels Manhattan for me, and the Pork & Brisket that we ordered we're Delicious beyond words. Will most definitely become a return customer.
I've been here 2 times, the food is fantastic if it was HOT. Both times the food was on the cold side. French fries were cold, I ordered a side of baked beans also cold and a Pulled Pork sandwich. The coleslaw was cold and that is good but the Pork again on the cold side.... The service was great. We started out with a party of 2 and ended up with 8 people, she rolled with us...
Had the St. Louis style ribs and they were awesome! I enjoy a place that serves them naked with a six-pack of sauce on the side, "just in case you need it". That means they are confident with the bones they smoked. These were perfect! Good ribs don't fall off the bone. Good ribs hold the meat until you gently pull it away with either a fork or your teeth. Oh yeah... the sauces were also very good, especially the Carolina, but I used them sparingly because the ribs were that good!
