My 4 star review is basically because my husband loves the eggs benedict and this place holds some nostaligia for both of us.
I ordered one of their salads for lunch. $9.00 and not really worth it. (I Love salads that have vegetables and not just loads of lettuce with about 4 slices of different vegetables.)
This restaurant is stronghold of Ann Arbor so expect it to be busy and to have to wait for a table.
Service was "big city" friendly: in other words, the server is to the point but not rude. Just don't expect pleasantries.

Great breakfast spot with amazing house made bread. I tried both the wheat and the raisin and they were DELICIOUS! Very big and hearty. I also had cornbeef hash and it was good, not overly salty. Kiddo had French toast which was thick, likely from their homemade bread.

Service was a little faster today than last time we were here (over 10 years ago if that tells you anything), and the sunroom was chilly, with air conditioning blowing so hard that when my daughter poured her customary ten tablespoons of sugar in her tea (only a slight exaggeration), only part of it made it in the cup because the wind from the air conditioner blew it onto the table. Our waitress seemed like she didn't like her job much, or people in general, but she did bring us the correct food and checked back one time (so we didn't get that refill on hot water for the cup of sugar . . . I mean tea).
I ordered a special with one egg, potatoes, and toast. My egg was scrambled, well done, and it was cooked perfectly, but was cold in 2 minutes flat from the breeze from the air conditioner. The potatoes lacked flavor and were mediocre even after adding salt. I discovered raisin toast is extra when we got the bill, which our waitress didn't mention. This toast is good, but the crust is very hard, so be warned if you don't like it that way.
My daughter's deep fried French toast was good. If you order this, share with someone unless you have a monstrous appetite. The strawberries and blueberries were thawed and left a lot of juice on the bottom of the plate, which is good for eating now, but not good for leftovers because the thick cut bread gets soggy. There is plenty of egg on the outside, and it's fried to a nice crispness. Some bites were better than others, because some tasted greasy.
Maybe this place is hit or miss as far as service and quality. I'm glad we tried it again, but I don't feel there's any reason to go back with so many other excellent choices within a few miles. I hope your experience is stellar if you give it a try.

This place is pretty good. I had the eggs Benedict and I was saddened not to see capers on it. It also had A LOT of hollandaise sauce. Depending on your style you might like that. The service was friendly and fast. All in all I enjoyed it. My friends enjoyed their meal. Food presentation could be a little bit better as well.
I’ll be back to try it again!

Amazing breakfast. Their homemade bread is really pleasant. I always enjoy going here, as long as you dont mind the noise. Even in a rush, they were prompt to seat and serve our party of 3. I personally recommend the Smoked Salmon Benedict
