I’ve been living in Ypsilanti for over 20 years and just went to the Tap room for the first time on Friday for lunch . Had the corn beef Ruben served with the homemade chips absolutely delicious!!! Service was a bit slow but the atmosphere more than made up for the wait . Love the historical architecture just an interesting place to be .

A lovely local gem! I've been here a handful of times and it never disappoints me. Filled with cheap drinks for the cheap sippers and to be honest, the food is actually pretty damn good as well. The establishment has 3 areas to it, if you will. The actual BAR are which is loud and dark. Then you've got the "game area" aka pool tables, shuffle board and maybe darts, along with a few dining table. Then, you've got the third area, an actual restaurant seating area. So all in all, you get the best of three worlds under one roof but all separated by the walls.

The food is generally very good, although it can be off occasionally. The service, however, is atrocious, often behaving as if they know you personally and just don't like you and don't want to even acknowledge your existence, much less take your order. I used to go there regularly because they are open late when everything else is closed and usually serve excellent food. However, I eventually got tired of being blatantly ignored by the staff ( perhaps they don't like single diners' because the tips are not as large as from a group, I don't know). It's also very difficult to enter for wheelchair users because there is a tight little breezeway between two heavy and narrow doors and, like I said before, the apathetic staff are not likely to notice your difficulty and offer any help.

Awesome atmosphere you go here you will enjoy the hell out of yourself! Nice crowd live music on some nights. Some of the stiffest affordable drinks you will EVER order. Decent menu and decor! The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable! Tons of seating, pool tables, darts. What more could you want?
