Kuzzo's Chicken & Waffles

This is the first place in my life I could not finish my breakfast. It wasn't because it was bad or I wasn't hungry. It was just that filling and delicious. It was truly a remarkable experience all the same. Part of the B.O.B. initiative (Black Owned Business), this truly sets the stage for what the up and coming Livernois/7 mile shopping district is all about. I had the mac and cheese, red velvet waffle, the hot fried chicken, and this amazing rainbow of Kool Aid. Needless to say I was really hungry. It was definitely worth the visit, great staff and service! Perfect for bringing your family! (And sharing) :p

The wait is extremely long which I believe makes the food quality poor. They can’t keep up with the demand. I did enjoy the hot cocoa during the cold November but had to send my meal back. Food tasted straight out of a can ????. What a shame. The server was very friendly and that’s something I do appreciate. One star for the decor, one for the server and one star for the hot cocoa and specialty punch they serve (I’ll go to get that to go). When I visit Detroit again, I’ll definitely try another restaurant.

Presentation of most of our meals: Wonderful! Chicken and waffles, how could one go wrong? First, never try to pass a piece of breast meat off as a thigh! Second, serve food hot: temp wise! The five of us, three generations, really wanted the meal to go nicely. My daughter ate at Kuzzos about three years ago and was so excited to bring us there. Management, Kitchen, Step up your game! The hostess and waitress were very accommodating and were tipped accordingly. Funky, family atmosphere, sporty, full bar - FYI.
