The old time charm was very inviting. The word must be getting out, because the eatery filled up very quickly. Even thoughs just a bit shorthanded, our order was delivered to our table promptly. “My husband and I stopped in for lunch and it was very, very good!! He had the walleye sandwich and he thought it was the best he's had in a long time! We live in the Brainerd Lakes area and have had walleye at many places so that's saying something. I chose the Basil Chicken sandwich and it was also delicious. Will order it again and we recommend both heartily. The house soup today was a Russian soup called Soliyanka, I think. My husband had it and liked that, too. We will go back and will recommend The Lodge to others!”

“Yes I am doing 5 stars for a non5 star trip. The experience I am going to share was rare. The service was excellent--my phone was dead so while my food was being made I sat in my car. I said I'd pop back in. Instead the female worker insisted on bringing my food out to me because that is what we do. When I got home and cooked the special it was uber oily. The Canadian bacon was perfect. I will always go back because one bad pizza out of over 50 is ok. Just sharing so managment knows to retrain on Nick's Tuscan Pizza.”
